3 months old

Another month has gone by and Ashlyn is 3 months old now. The other picture is of her first lollipop. She was excited about it!

Trick or Treat

Pumpkins

We decided it would be easier (for mom) if Caden just painted his pumpkin instead of carved it.

2 months old

I can't believe it but Ashlyn is already two months old.

Hair cuts

Due to the financial situation that everyone is in we are trying our hardest to save money. One of the ways we are doing this is by cutting the boys' hair ourselves. They both had mohawks before cutting it all off.

Ashlyn's blessing

My best friend Brandi's husband Ryan blessed Ashlyn for us on September 7th. The little boy in the above picture is Preston there son. It looked like they were getting married. (she's in her white dress and he's in a suite)

She's finally here!!!

After a long nine months our newest addition has finally arrived. I had a scheduled induction for August 1, 2008 and had to be at the hospital at 6:30 that morning. I could hardly sleep the night before because i was so nervous and excited for our baby to finally be here. We got checked in and settled into my room and Dr. Kaan induced me at about 9:00. The nurses wanted me to get up and walk around but I didn't want to do anything that might make her come faster until my mom got there. So when my mom got there I agreed to walk around. It didn't take much time before I was started to really feel the contractions. They wanted me to walk around for an hour, but we headed back to the room after only half an hour because i needed to go to the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom my mom asked me if I was ok. I told her I felt like I was going to throw up. She said I was really white. I didn't walk anymore after that. The next little while is kinda a blurr. The next thing I remember is breathing through some really painful contractions. I got to the point where I couldn't take it any more so I told Joe I want the epidural. I got the epidural but it pretty much just took the edge off the pain. I was good for a little while but then I started having really bad back pain. The nurse came in to check me and said it's time. As they were wheeling me to the delivery room I started throwing up. The nurses were excited because they said it helps the baby come. I wasn't too excited about it though. After a few good pushes Ashlyn Marie Tolar was born at 4:02 pm.

Wyoming Big Show 2008

We took Caden to the carnival for family night. It was only a dollar to ride the rides. AWESOME HUH!!! He had so much fun. His favorite was the BIG slide. He took dad on it twice.
So I was going to try to go through all the pics that I have on my computer and put them on here to give an update on our family, but I have too many!! I don't think I would ever get completly caught up. I'm just gonna put up somethings from the last couple months to be up to date. So If anyone is wondering what happened to a couple of the months that why...

Baby makes four....

About a week after moving I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to wait until Joe's birthday (December 14th) to tell him but I just couldn't wait that long. I took two pregnancy test just to make sure and that one night I waited for to come home from work. Caden was already asleep so we actually got some alone time and I felt it was the perfect time to tell him. I was wearing a hoodie so I put both the tests in my pocket and told him I had something to tell him, but he had to guess. He kept saying I don't know, I don't know, and then finally he said your pregnant. I said yeah reach into my pocket. He reached in, found the test and then just kinda sat there with blank look on his face. I wasn't sure if he was ok, but he reassured me he was and that he was very happy. I figured my due date to be July 22nd, but after a few doctors visits it got changed to August 8, 2008. (8-8-08 cool huh)

Moving again!!

After living in Gillette for a year we decided to move back to Rock Springs. Joe had actually been working in Pinedale (north of Rock Springs) since April of 2007 and it was now December. His boss reassured us that there would be plenty of work for awhile and it wouldn't be a bad idea to move us all down there. I found us a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath town house. Besides the rent it was pretty much just want I wanted. So the first weekend of December we loaded up the uhaul and headed to own new home. Joe drove the uhaul while I drove the truck. We had to put stuff in the truck that wouldn't fit in the uhaul and we had so much in the truck that I couldn't even see Caden in the back in his car seat! I got there about 11:00. Joe was about an hour behind me because he couldn't travel as fast in the uhaul. When I got there I realized we had no blinds. There was no way I was going to go to bed that night with nothing covering the windows. So I went to Walmart and got some blinds and by the time I got back Joe had made it. He put up the blinds on the windows that we needed covered, unpacked the air matress and spent our first night in the new home.

The Wedding Party

From left to right: Daniel (my brother), Heather (my sister), Michael (my brother), Leah (friend), Mike (friend), Jocelyn (Maid of honor), Me, Joe, Brandi (Matron of Honor), Shawn (Best Man), Genetha (Joe's sister), David (Joe's brother), and Cortnie (my sister)

We got married one year after our very first date on July 14, 2007 in Buffalo, Wyoming.

The Proposal

Gillette is about 2 hours from Deadwood, South Dakota, and one day Joe decided he wanted to go over and have some fun. (Deadwood is a gambling town.) We got his mom and dad to babysit Caden so that we didn't have to take him and headed over in the late afternoon. After a few hours of playing Joe asked me if I was hungry. I wasn't so I told him if he was he could grab something, but I didn't need to eat just yet. He kept asking me over and over again, but I just wasn't hungry. I kept thinking man he must really be hungry. So I told him we could head home. When we got to the car he was acting really weird, but I figured it had something to do with him being hungry. We started driving and about a couple miles out of Deadwood he just stops on the side of the road. I asked him what's wrong thinking we had a flat tire or something. He said nothing's wrong. AND TO BE HONEST I DON'T REMEMBER THE REST OF WHAT HE SAID.....BUT IT ENDED WITH WILL YOU MARRY ME!! Of course I said yes. Come to find out he wanted to go to dinner so bad so that he could ask me there. But because I didn't want to go he did it on side of the road. I know the side of the road may not be that romantic, but it didn't really matter to me where he asked, just that he did.
We continued seeing each other after that first date, but nothing was "official." I went on a date with another guy at the end of August, and after that date I knew something HAD to be decided. I told Joe about the other guy and told him that I wanted to date him more than the other guy, but would continue hanging out with the other guy if Joe didn't make it official. So that night, August 25th, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I never saw the other guy again. We continued dating for the next couple months and I knew it was getting serious when he told me he wanted to come with me to North Carolina for Thanksgiving. My grandparents on my dad's side live there and all of the family was going. We drove all the way and thats really when I knew he might be the one. If you can stand to be in the car that long with someone, you must really love them!!! LOL anyways about 3 weeks later after we got home Joe and I moved in together. Not only did we move in together, but we moved to another city. We moved to Gillette because of Joe's work. The moment I knew Joe was the one was when he told me I could stay home and take care of my son and didn't have to work. He is the most giving guy. He isn't even Caden's biological father, but he was willing to work and provide for both of us. I love him so much!!! Just about the time we got used to living together he decides to change things up a little bit....

Where it all began

Ok, so I'm not really sure what to do on this site, but it seems that everyone is doing a blog so I figured what the heck. It will be a good way to keep everyone updated on mine and Joe's crazy life! I should probably start at the begining, which would be about 3 years ago in July when I met Joe. He says we met in June, but I'm sure it was July so to be safe lets just say the summer of 2005. I was kinda dating one of his friends at the time and I went to the hotel where all the guys where staying. They were all from Gillette, but working down here in Rock Springs and that's why they were staying in the hotel. Joe was one of the guys staying there. He really didn't catch my eye at that time because of the other guy I was seeing. But he claims he told his friend Shawn "I'm gonna marry her someday." I ended up getting pregnant that summer. My boyfriend at the time left me when I was around 4 months pregnant. I had become friends with all of his friends including Joe. They were all on my side about the breakup and I stayed in touch with them. So I continued my friendship with Joe, Mike, Shawn, and Leah (Shawn's girlfriend) for a little while, but it was hard because I was working so much. I knew it was going to be hard to be a single mom and work a lot, so I was trying to work as much as I could before my son was born. I would only really see them when they would come to Walmart, where I was working. My son Caden Michael was born April 16, 2006. I went home to stay with my parents during my maternity leave. While at my parents I went on to Yahoo personals. I wasn't really looking for someone to date, I was more curious than anything. One da i received an email from a guy who sounded like someone I could date. His profile said he was living in Rock Springs, but working in Pinedale, and that his name was joe. But there was no picture. There were other things in his profile which led me to think of Joe. I sent an email back saying "have we met?" I never go a response. I didn't really think much about it until one day when I went back to Rock Springs to move some of my stuff into my new apartment. I found Shawn's phone number in a box of stuff. I decided to call him so I could show of my new baby. He told me he wasn't in town, but that he was working in Pinedale. That made me think of the email. I told him about it and asked if it was possible it could be Joe. He said yeah it's Joe and he has had a thing for you ever since he met you. I told Shawn that Joe needed to get up the courage to ask me out because I would go out with him if he did. Sure enough a couple days later Joe called me. Our first date was July 14, 2006. We went to dinner at Applebee's, then to the movie: You, Me, and Depree, and then we went to the bar for a few drinks......
